Firefighters have one of the most physically and mentally demanding jobs in the world. They are always ready to respond to a call and save lives. That’s why it’s important to make sure your firefighters are well-rested and safe inside the fire station. With our Fire Tough Recliners, you and your team have a comfortable, durable, and safe spot to relax on shift. Here are three reasons to choose American Firehouse Furniture when purchasing new recliners.

  1. Comfort is built into each of our Fire Tough Recliners. Durable bonded leather was chosen specifically to meet the demands of the firehouse, giving the look, feel, and volume of traditional leather while remaining sturdy with use. The one direction blocker also stops the rocker from rocking back when the ottoman is open, so you don’t have to worry about tipping back too far.
  2. Durability is the name of the game when it comes to our recliners. Heavy gauged steel is used in the springs and frame construction, and hardwoods and other wood products are used in the seat box construction for strength and extra stability. Wider base mounting points offer even greater strength and stability, while flatter and stronger links allow for more bending resistance and improved weight capacity. Delrin and bronze rivet bushings help reduce wear and increase durability. Each chair is built Fire Tough, just the way they should be.
  3. Safety inside and out is guaranteed. Because firefighters are already exposed to dangerous carcinogens at emergencies, we believe they should not be further exposed in the firehouse. We removed flame retardants from foams in our recliners to limit firefighters’ exposure to carcinogens. In addition to limiting contact with harmful materials, we also designed our recliners to be easily cleaned and disinfected per CDC-Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection recommendations and NFPA 1581 Chapter 8, Appendix C. The bonded leather that we use to cover our Fire Tough recliners has been tested and will withstand the use of a 3% bleach solution in compliance with NFPA and the CDC.
